Purpose Building developed the GHG Reduction Implementation Plan for the Regional Municipality of Durham's corporate portfolio. Focused on 62 facilities in 10 operational areas, the plan set 5 and 10-year GHG emissions reduction targets with a list of actions and timeline. The plan aligned with Durham's Climate Emergency Declaration, Corporate Strategic Plan, Future Climate Study, and Community Energy Plan Low Carbon Pathway.

Purpose Building is working with Starlight Investments to define a Portfolio Roadmap Forecast of cost and benefits and develop a Net Zero Transition Strategy for their real estate portfolio which includes $25B Assets. The Strategy will set a company wide approach to net zero for global managed real estate to reduce carbon emission, develop robust organizational strategies and tools to adjust inputs to reflect company’s growth and changes. The Strategy supports the commitment to reach net zero by 2050.

Purpose Building, in collaboration with Recursive Advisors, advanced Concert Properties’ net zero pathway with: a Scope 3 emissions framework and preliminary inventory with priority actions; an upfront embodied carbon pathway aligned with likely commitments; and an operational carbon pathway detailing asset level opportunities with capital costs, utility savings, and implementation timelines. The result was a clear data driven foundation for target setting and investment decisions.
